Hi! We are Andie, Christian, and Hayden, and we make up Team A Positive. We all attend Burbank High School as seniors, and are passionate about helping Lymphoma & Leukemia patients through fundraising. Out of the three pillars that LLS stands for (research, patient advocacy, and patient support), we most resonate with patient support, which involves helping to fund education programs and overall assistance to blood cancer patients. Help us reach our goal of raising $100,000 towards cancer patient support!

Why Statements: 

Andie- I became involved in LLS because I love the cause that LLS stands for. Coming from a family with a history of cancer diagnoses, I wanted to give back to a community that supports patients and helps alleviate any extra burdens of stress, like paying for treatment. Over the next 7 weeks, I am excited to focus my efforts into reaching my team’s fundraising goal and financially supporting blood cancer research, support, and advocacy. 

Christian- The reason why I had chosen to participate in this campaign is to help support and give back. Being recently diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes along with a passion to pursue the medical field, I had felt it was important for me to partake in this campaign and help patients dealing with blood cancers. My participation will help support LLS's critical work, accelerating research and improving access to treatment to give patients more years of life. 

Hayden- I chose to be a student visionary of the year for LLS in honor of my mom. My mom has battled several different types of health issues and cancers now including blood cancer. I wanted to be able to give back to the Leukemia and Lymphoma society to help all the patients out there that don’t feel strong enough to advocate for themselves, or don’t have the resources to do so. I’ve seen first hand how hard the battle can be and I want to do everything I can to make it as easy as possible.
